Die quadratischen Quick Response Codes (QR-Codes) bieten im Vergleich mit herkömmlichen Barcodes einige Vorteile: sie können leichter mit mobilen Geräten gelesen werden und bieten eine höhere Speicherkapazität.

Anhand einer prototypischen Anwendung zur Zugangskontrolle soll deshalb das Zusammenspiel einer APEX-Anwendung mit QR-Codes demonstriert werden.

Das German Microdata Lab (GML) in Mannheim, Teil von GESIS, dem Leibniz-Institut für Sozialwissenschaften, stellt für interessierte Wissenschaftler Informationen aus den Mikrozensen zur Forschung und Auswertung über ihre Webseite zur Verfügung. Insbesondere die Downloadmöglichkeit von aufbereiteten Syntaxdateien für die Auswertung mit den Statistikprogrammen SPSS und STATA ist dabei eine Kernfunktionalität.

Realisiert ist dieser Service in Form einer APEX-basierten Backend-Anwendung zur Datenpflege und Sprachpflege der Frontend-Anwendung. Die ebenso APEX-basierte Frontendanwendung stellt dann die Informationen und Downloadmöglichkeiten zur Verfügung.

In diesem Beitrag wird die Entwicklung der Frontend- und Backendanwendung gezeigt und die damit gemachten Erfahrungen präsentiert und zur Diskussion gestellt.

DEADLINES

Submission of papers or extended abstracts: MARCH 4, 2013 
Notification of acceptance: APRIL 15, 2013 
Submission of final papers and registration: MAY 20, 2013 

The organizers will invite participating authors to be discussants of a paper.

FUNDING

Subject to the approval of subsidies by the Flemish Interuniversity Council (VLIR), limited funds will be available to cover for travel to Antwerp and local accommodation costs for presenters of selected papers that are nationals of countries on the Belgian Directorate-General for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid (DGD) list (see http://www.vliruos.be/index.php?navid=640&language=EN&throughadmin=1#anchor2130). If you would like to apply for such financial assistance, please indicate this before MARCH 4, 2013 (along with submission of the paper).

There will also be a Best Paper Award for a paper of a young researcher (author and co-authors up to and including 35 years of age). The decision will be made by the Scientific Committee after the presentations.
